The Lagos International Theatre Festival (LITF), spearheaded by renowned theatre producer and director Bolanle Austen-Peters, is set to take place from 14th–17th November 2024 under the theme “Culture Unmasked.” The four-day festival will bring together global performers and showcase world-class productions at UNILAG, Terra Kulture, Muson Centre, and Glover Hall.
Drawing on her 22 years of industry experience and her work with Terra Kulture, where over 24,000 young people have been trained, Austen-Peters described the festival as both a necessity and an opportunity to position Lagos as a leading theatre hub in Africa and the world.
The initiative has received strong backing from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who emphasized its alignment with the state’s economic master plan and its potential to drive growth in entertainment, tourism, and the creative economy.
More than an event, LITF is envisioned as a cultural movement that will celebrate diversity, creativity, and excellence, while cementing Lagos’s place on the global cultural map.
